Southland Academy Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
Welcome to Southland's PTO page. As an organization, our goal is to make a difference on our campus and in our children's lives. We thrive as a family unit that wants to expand relationships beyond the classroom.
Why Join PTO?
1. The children benefit. When parents get connected to the school, children do better. Research shows children whose parents are involved get better grades and have fewer discipline problems at school.
2. We can help make a difference. Our mission is to create the kind of school community where teachers and administrators can do their best work and so can our children. We want to build the kind of supportive, caring atmosphere that makes a school fun.
3. We want to provide connections. PTO involvement helps you stay connected with the school and allows you to gain a broader perspective of how you can play a supportive role. You also make connections with other parents and share a common goal of student achievement. Working together helps build a strong foundation for students to grow and thrive.
4. PTO provides a helping hand. We realize that every parent is busy, so we welcome job-sharing roles. Many hands make light work, so if more people come forward, we can share the work which makes it fun for everyone.
5. It can be good for you! You can contribute your skills and knowledge for the benefit of not only your student, but for the school and the larger community.
6. You are needed. Our number one goal is to get parents more connected to the school. There is lots to be done, and you can be part of a lasting impact on our school.
