Melanie Mathis has been a part of the Southland family for 37 years. She and her late husband, William Mathis, have two children, Amanda and Nathan, both Southland graduates. Melanie began her employment at the school as a substitute teacher for several years before she began serving as the Director of Development. She is a native of Atlanta, Georgia, and attended Georgia Southwestern State University. She is an active member of Central Baptist Church.
