Southland Academy hosted three live streamed Honors Day programs for the high school, middle school, and lower school student bodies on Tuesday, May 12th. Headmaster Ty Kinslow, Academic Dean Patty Webb, High School and College Counselor Carol Burrell, Lower School Director Laura Kinslow, Counselor Jolie Ledger, Assistant Headmaster Clint Humphrey, and Band Director Rob Ivey served as the presenters for the occasions. Students were recognized for academic achievements, perfect attendance, Student Government, club participation, literary participation, leadership, citizenship, Accelerated Reading, and awarded scholarships . Southland Academy is proud of its students and their families and the faculty and staff. They have held true to Southland's motto, Committed to Excellence, for the 2019-2020 school year and remained steadfast towards academics during distance learning through Googleclassroom, ClassDojo, and learning packets. With great pleasure, Mr. Kinslow announced the recipient of the distinguished honor 2020 Salutatorian Parker Reeves, daughter of Kevin and Jenny Reeves, and the recipient of the distinguished honor 2020 Valedictorian Tyler Joyner, son of Dr. Jeremy and Laura Joyner. The administration, faculty, and staff are very proud to honor the Southland Academy students in grades 3-12.
