For Technology we read the book The Lorax. The Lorax was the main character in the story and throughout the book he was trying to save the trees where he lived from all being cut down. The students watched a slideshow on the Promethean Board detailing the essential need of trees to our environment and the air we breathe and why pollution is not good for us. The children then created a picture on their own of the Truffula Trees in the story. For Engineering the children stacked red solo cups with card stock in between to see how tall they could build a Dr Seuss hat. They also used linking cubes and a block with a pom pom on top to see how tall they could make truffula tree. It took patience but they had a blast creating and building.
