Lower School CrossFit Learns About the Jesus and the Lame Man

CrossFit

The Southland Academy Raiders Crossfit for Lower School grades 2-5 met as April Duke shared the message about a lame man whose friends believed that Jesus could heal him. At last they found a way to get their friend before Jesus by opening the roof and letting him down by ropes attached to his bed. But Jesus didn’t just heal the man’s lameness — he forgave his sins.   Approximately 75 students were engaged as Mrs. Duke brought to life the biblical passage of Mark 2.  Mrs. Duke allowed one student representing the paralyzed man to sit in the middle of a sheet on the floor.  Four more volunteers, who served the friends, carried the sheet just like the friends in the true story.  While the students laughed and enjoyed the activity, they also heard the very important message.  The paralytic man had faith in Jesus, and  his very good friends wanted to get him to Jesus even if they had to go through the roof.  Mrs. Duke confidently let every child know  that Jesus cares for all of us.  She also encouraged the students to be good friends with each other.
