Mrs. Madison Chandler’s 3rd Grade Students Created Oil Pastel Etchings In Art

Mrs. Madison Chandler’s 3rd grade students created oil pastel etchings in art recently. Student Ty Starlin created a series of four etchings titled “Dragon Adventures”. This four step process required a lot of patience! First, Ty colored his entire paper with oil pastel. Next, he painted an even layer of black acrylic paint over his paper and left it to dry overnight. Mrs. Chandler cut the paper into four equal pieces while Ty worked on his sketches. Finally, it was time to etch his drawings onto the paper using toothpicks! The end result is very energetic and colorful. Way to go Ty!
