Rod Murray has been a part of the Southland family for fourteen years. This is his eighth year serving as the Head Football Coach. He also serves as Dean of Students and Director of the Physical Education department. Rod also teaches Peer Leadership to our eighth graders. A native of Buena Vista, Georgia, Rod graduated from Tri-County High School in 1990. He then played baseball and golf at GSW where he earned his degree in Physical Education. This is his 26th year in education and coaching. He and his wife, Meredith (Southland Class of 1997), have been married for 19 years. They are members of Central Baptist Church.
