English 1101/ English 1102/ 10th Grade English/ Yearbook
Dana Dillard has been a member of the Southland Academy family for eleven years. In addition to teaching sophomore English, eleventh grade Advanced Placement English Language and Composition, and Dual Enrollment English 1101 and 1102, she also serves as the Raider yearbook advisor. Mrs. Dillard was born in Americus and grew up in Mississippi before returning to attend Georgia Southwestern State University in 1986. There she earned a B.S. Ed. in 1990 and later, an M.S. Ed. from the University of Georgia. She and her husband Hal have been married for twenty-eight years and have two children. Their daughter Owen graduated from Southland in 2013 and is currently a Pre-K teacher at Schley County Elementary. Their son Reed graduated from Southland in 2016 and is now a graduate of UGA pursuing a Ph.D. in poultry nutrition. The Dillards are members of First Baptist Church in Americus.
