YEARBOOK PRESENTATION AND DEDICATION Recently
in a school assembly, the yearbook staff proudly presented to
the student body the 2008 "The Fun's In Getting
There" RAIDER Yearbook. The 344-page edition is
once again printed in full color from cover to cover and is
filled with candid shots and memories of the 2007-08 school
year. Sadie Blount, editor, announced that this year's
RAIDER is lovingly dedicated to Mr. Rob Ivey because of his
seventeen year commitment to Southland Academy as the band
director, music teacher, and golf coach. Following the
dedication, the staff presented copies of the yearbook to Mr.
Stubbs and Mrs. Short. Yearbook
staff members are seniors, Editor Sadie Blount, Business
Manager Maggie Fletcher, Carmen Felton, Mary-Kate Hayes,
Mallorie Law, Mary Lester, Molly Rumph, Lauren Wilson; juniors
Heidi Bruns, Caroline Clark, Kathryn Fowler, Katie Hughes,
Mollie McGowan, Ivy O'Hern, Kristen Perry, and Haley
Strange. The yearbook staff adviser is Mrs. Judy Wills.
TRIKE-A-THON/JUMP ROPE FOR HEART
Recently Southland's elementary students
participated in two very important fund raisers. The
Pre-kindergarten and Kindergarten classes raised money for St.
Jude's Children's Research Hospital, and the 1st through 5th
grades raised money for the American Heart Association by
having a "Jump Rope for Heart". Both were very
successful with a combined total of $12,522. (Trike
$3,121/Jump Rope $9,401)

MISS SAR 2008

Southland Academy is pleased to
announce that Miss Molly Rumph, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard

Ceremonies. Miss Cook is a student at the University of
Georgia. She will graduate in May of this year with a degree
