The
Southland Academy Garden Club is a service-oriented club
sponsored by the Town and Country Garden Club of Leslie, GA.
We are registered as an official high school garden club with
the Garden Club of Georgia. The sponsor is Mrs. Phyllis
Tucker. This year we have 32 members.
One of our annual projects is to support the Methodist Home
for Children and Youth in Americus by purchasing gift cards
each year for all the girls at Christmas and bringing stocking
stuffers for them to the December meeting.
In February, members make Valentine cards for faculty
and staff. Garden Club
members helped the PTO in the landscaping project for
the main entry to the campus.
When time allows, we have interesting speakers dealing with
various topics from flowers to birds to conservation.
Each year our club makes a generous donation to the
Thomas Greene Scholarship Fund.

The Southland Academy high
